Features - in Black & White and Colour Photography

In this section you will find features, covering events, special collections and so on. Currently published are the galleries of:

  • Veteran and Vintage Cars at the Bruchsal Baroque Palace
  • NEW: Provence, France - Luberon and Aix-en-Provence

Every year in the hot days of August the Bertha-Benz-Memorial-Drive takes place. This is to remind on Bertha Benz, wife of automobile pioneer Carl Benz, who herself drove in 1888 together with her two children from Mannheim to Pforzheim, which is about 85 km length. Right in the middle between these two cities is Bruchsal, a small town with pretty baroque palace grounds where nowadays the participants of the Bertha-Benz-Memorial-Drive have a short break of about 90 minutes in the early afternoon in the courtyard of the palace.
All snaps (focal lengths 18mm, 24mm and 135mm) were taken during this Bruchsal stopover of the Bertha-Benz-Memorial-Drive in 2004 on Agfa Scala 200x black&white slide materials.

The pictures in the Provence feature were taken in March 2005 during the days of the blooming of the almond trees. In France, more than 100 villages are officially declared as "most beautiful village" of the country, 5 of them to find in the Provence, more precisely, in the Luberon region, and 4 of them are covered in this feature: Roussillon, Gordes, Menerbes, and Lourmarin. Other cities and villages - not less beautiful - covered here are Aix-en-Provence, Ansouis, Isle sur la Sorgue, Senanque, Murs and Joucas. The gallery closes with 2 nightshots of the Cruas nuclear power plant (no montage!) and one of the Rhone river close to Montelimar.
Most of the snaps were taken with 20mm focal length on Kodak E100SW and Kodak E200 colour slide materials.
